Long Term Care Home (CHSLD)
The Wales Home has a CHSLD permit to operate 85-bed Long Term Nursing Care Units spread over four different floors (including 2 Alzheimer’s Special Care Units). This sector of the Home provides intensive nursing care for residents who require considerable medical attention. The role of the nursing personnel working on the long term care unit is to assist the residents with their daily living activities. Personnel respect each resident's level of autonomy, by carrying out daily living activities as outlined in the nursing care plan as well as the interdisciplinary care plan, concurrently promoting their well-being and quality of life. The on-site doctor and nursing staff work in collaboration to ensure that the residents receive the special care that they require.

Options:
Although all the rooms are furnished, and semi private rooms are equipped with a 36” flat-screen TV, the residents are welcome to bring a few familiar items such as a favorite chair, bed quilt , pictures or a television if residing in a private room.
