October was a month of transition around the home. We watched as the leaves changed around the building, as the decorations for Thanksgiving and Halloween went up, and some employees changed offices and work locations as our front of house renovation neared completion.

On the afternoon of the 7th, over a hundred people who had received a special invitation received a tour at the ribbon cutting of our front of house renovations which include a therapeutic pool, new therapy department, offices, a board room and training center, resident lounge, dining spaces and modernized shipping and receiving and waste management center. On the 10th, employees were given the guided tour and on the 11th, residents had the chance… Continue reading

The month of August meant more awesomeness throughout the Home. Some activities and offices were moved at the end of the month due to our renovations, which are progressing well. In addition to our usual monthly activities which include carpet bowling, bingo, church services and storytelling, here are some of this month’s highlights.

On the 2nd, the Masonic Lodge hosted a barbecue at the Wales Home for all residents and employees. We would like to thank them for this special treat. Following the delicious lunch of hotdogs, hamburgers, potato salad, coleslaw, lemonade and ice cream treats, a dance was held in the main dining room.

This is an exciting time of year around the Wales Home. Outside, the flowers are blooming and are most enjoyable to look at while out for a breath of fresh air. The petting zoo animals also returned at the end of May and are another attraction while taking in the sights and sounds of the Home. Our renovations continue to move forward and everyone is happy to watch the progress which is taking place.

The tally from our May silent auction has been done and we raised a considerable amount of money which will be used to better the lives of our residents. Thank you to our extremely supportive community for all that you did to… Continue reading
