A New Year at the Wales Home and tons of activities are on the horizon for 2018. Here are just some of the highlights from January.

 

An amazing piano and vocal concert with Lou Simons took place in the living room on the afternoon of the 4th. Friday teas resumed on the 5th after a hiatus for the many festivities which were held in December. Local author, Nick Fonda, gave a presentation in the main living room on the afternoon of the 11th.

March was another action packed month at the Wales Home. Ballet instructor Cynthia gave residents a beautiful demonstration in the living room on the afternoon of the 1st. Sugar on snow was enjoyed at noon on the 2nd by both residents and employees. A breakfast outing to the Deli Train Restaurant in Richmond took place on the morning of the 3rd. Painting classes with Marie-Lyne Fontaine also resumed on the 3rd. A knitter’s sale took place in the living room on the afternoon of the 3rd. December, as always was festive throughout the Home. All the floors and common areas were decorated beautifully in various Christmas themes creating magic for all residents, employees and visitors. Here are just some of the highlights from our month.

 

On the afternoon of the 1st, interested participants for the Wales Home Residents’ Choir met in the living room for their first practice. The Roxton children gave a beautiful musical performance in the living room on the afternoon of the 2nd. The Veterans’ Christmas Party hosted by the Legion Branch #15 took place on the afternoon of the 3rd. On behalf of everyone at the Wales Home, thank you to all of the volunteers who take time to join us and do so much for our residents. This is much appreciated by all! We were pleased to have Vicky Coddington working in the activity department with us this summer. She recently finished her summer work with us and we wish her well in her future plans.

 

Residents and employees enjoyed a delicious barbecue meal on the 5th. This meal is sponsored by the Masonic Lodge. Following the barbecue, a dance was held in the main dining room. Music was provided by Homegrown Country.
