The Wales Home Foundation’s 11th annual Golf Tournament is only a month and a half away! This year, all 36 available foursomes have been booked!! However, there are still a few spots available for the banquet supper, as well as plenty of room for donations! If you or someone you know wishes to sponsor our tournament or donate an auction item or door prize, please contact Brendalee Piironen at bpiironen@waleshome.ca (819-826-3266 extension 247) or Courtney Grainger at cgrainger@waleshome.ca (extension 251). Despite the snowy weather we have had lately, the Wales Home Foundation’s annual golf tournament planning is already underway! The tournament is one of the biggest annual fundraisers for the Foundation, which generates funds for the Wales Home in order to continue to provide excellent quality services and care to seniors. The tournament is always lots of fun for volunteers and players alike, thanks to the kindness and generosity of community members. The 2017 tournament will be held on Thursday, August 24th, 2017 at Golf & académie Longchamp in Sherbrooke. It was another extremely busy month at the Wales Home in May.

 

A Mother’s Day craft took place on the afternoon of the 2nd, thanks to the assistance of some of our volunteers. A spa afternoon was held in the living room on May 3rd, also in celebration of Mother’s Day.

 

We have a new activity which has started. It is known as the Current Events Club where residents gather to discuss what is happening in the news. Our semi-annual resident and family meeting took place on the 5th. On the 7th, residents and drivers enjoyed a delicious outing to the Salad Luncheon in Ulverton.
