Despite the snowy weather we have had lately, the Wales Home Foundation’s annual golf tournament planning is already underway! The tournament is one of the biggest annual fundraisers for the Foundation, which generates funds for the Wales Home in order to continue to provide excellent quality services and care to seniors. The tournament is always lots of fun for volunteers and players alike, thanks to the kindness and generosity of community members. The 2017 tournament will be held on Thursday, August 24th, 2017 at Golf & académie Longchamp in Sherbrooke. It was another extremely busy month at the Wales Home in May.


A Mother’s Day craft took place on the afternoon of the 2nd, thanks to the assistance of some of our volunteers. A spa afternoon was held in the living room on May 3rd, also in celebration of Mother’s Day.


We have a new activity which has started. It is known as the Current Events Club where residents gather to discuss what is happening in the news. Our semi-annual resident and family meeting took place on the 5th. On the 7th, residents and drivers enjoyed a delicious outing to the Salad Luncheon in Ulverton. With April came sunshine and some warmer days. This meant that more residents took walks outside, sat out under the covered roof at door 6 and in the sun porch. It was also a busy month for our activity department. We said goodbye to our stagieres Lisa Astrologo and Claudie Levesque. We wish them the best of luck in the future.


A dance was held in the main living room on the afternoon of the 6th. Paul Richard provided the music for this entertaining afternoon.


Our annual volunteer evening was held on the 11th. A huge thank you to our more than two hundred volunteers for all the contributions that they make to the Home.… Continue reading

On behalf of everyone at the Wales Home, thank you to all of the volunteers who take time to join us and do so much for our residents. This is much appreciated by all! We were pleased to have Vicky Coddington working in the activity department with us this summer. She recently finished her summer work with us and we wish her well in her future plans.


Residents and employees enjoyed a delicious barbecue meal on the 5th. This meal is sponsored by the Masonic Lodge. Following the barbecue, a dance was held in the main dining room. Music was provided by Homegrown Country.
