December at the Résidence Wales Home and CHSLD Wales Inc. was a month of fun and festivities. It began on the 1st, with a concert in the main living room by the Roxton Children. They also performed for residents of Norton 3 on their unit. On the afternoon of the 2nd, an amazing performance of the Christmas Cantata was held in the main living room.

In addition to our regular monthly activities which include bingos, exercise classes, yoga sessions, card games, Friday teas and church services, here are some of our highlights. The Home was also decorated for Remembrance Day at the beginning of the month and once those decorations came down, the Christmas decorations began appearing throughout the Home.

On the 1st, residents had the opportunity to see a comedy show on User’s Rights in the main living room. The show has been shown in towns and cities throughout Quebec in both English and French. A magnetic jewellery sale was held in the living room on the 2nd.

Our 6th annual candlelight evening of memories will take place on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 7 PM in the main living room of the Wales Home.

Your generosity has helped us accomplish many projects!  In 2012, we sold 540 candles and last year we surpassed our goal of lighting over 1100. Your support has helped finance the purchase of numerous projects including a Sky Factory Image for Norton 2, equipment for our wellness room and last year the upcoming installation of TV Tours! This year our goal is to sell 1200 candles. The money will be used to update the solariums on Shaw 1 and Shaw 2 (new lighting, etc.)

Mireille Pruneau will be… Continue reading
