human resources:
Since the week of April 19th, we had the pleasure of welcoming Bianca Lussier to the Human Resources Department. After reflection, Bianca decided to return to caregiving. I want to thank her for her work in the HR Department and Sydney and Amanda for training her. Bianca quickly became autonomous and was a great help to us. We are very happy she will remain part of the Wales team and wish her the best as she returns to Norton 2. We are currently working on filling this position, but in the meantime, Rebecca Stevens will occupy this role starting May 31st. On May 18th, we welcomed Kayla Lachapelle who is on preventive reassignment.
We are working on clarifying the department's roles and organization to clarify where you should address questions. The first step is a memo that was published a few days ago and that is presently still on the bulletin boards. I invite you to read the entire memo, but here are a few important details:

QUALITY OF CARE:
Quality of care involves each of us. For my part, as Director of Quality and Administrative Services, I need to make sure that our processes ensure the best quality of care for admissions, recruitment, resident, and family member dissatisfactions, etc. and that we have data and indicators that allow us to determine what needs to be implemented to improve quality and yield the expected results. Please note that Vicky Gingras is still responsible for the quality of care where specific nursing practices are concerned.
Reminder:
If you have not seen the May 17st memo regarding language used at the Wales, here are the most important details:
"... we are an English facility and, according to the Wales's values, our interactions with the residents or with our colleagues in the residents' presence should be in English.
Ifa resident is Francophone and you are interacting one-on-one, French can be used. If you are more than one employee with a Francophone resident and everyone speaks and understands French, French is permitted. Otherwise, English is the expected language at the Wales."
Finally, the HR Department will be working on the integration and orientation process for new employees to improve our retention rate.
NEW EMPLOYEES:
We are pleased to welcome the following new employees to the Wales team!
- Krystal Pronovost who started working as a caregiver
- Catherine Dougherty who will start working as an LPN
- Marianne Blom who started working as a Supervisor
- Myriam Elkas who started working as a summer student in Administration
