Beneficiary Attendants
SALARY: $25.63 HOURLY
Job description
As a compassionate Wales beneficiary attendant, you will assist residents in their daily activities while respecting and encouraging their autonomy level as established in their care plan. You will use interpersonal skills and flexibility to provide a homelike environment alongside your team. In addition, you will use the skills from your law 90 training to administer medications and perform designated treatments.
Wanted profile
- Diplôme d'études professionnelles (DEP) in Institutional and Home Care Assistance
- Billingual - English & French (written & spoken)
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and Principes de déplacements sécuritaires des personnes (PDSP) training
- Law 90 training, a must
- Relevant experience with seniors
Responsabilities :
- Provide the assistance and care as required by the residents.
- Adapt his/her approach, temperament and intensity of care to the resident’s residual capacities.
- Communicate with the LPN and Assistant Head Nurse any observation regarding relative changes in the general condition of the resident.
- Assist the LPN and the Assistant Head Nurse with certain exams and treatments.
- Establish a therapeutic alliance with the client and his/her loved ones.
- Ensure to give safe care and services.
- Assist in emergency situations.
- Provide care, considering the “living environment” approach.
- Contribute to the achievement of the care objectives and the different programs put in place by the Unit Manager and to the achievement of the results.
- Participate in daily, weekly, or monthly team meetings.
- Demonstrate autonomy and flexibility in the management of his/her time and the organization of his/her work.
- Ensure the continuity of information to his/her colleagues, especially during the rotation of the care teams and shift changes.
- Perform all other duties relevant to the role of Beneficiary Attendant at the request of the immediate supervisor.
