The Wales Home Foundation is proud to recognize a recent generous donation in the amount of $16,811.22 from the Fondation CSSS du Val-St-François. This essential funding enabled the purchase of vital medical equipment aimed at improving care quality and work efficiency. The contribution allowed the CHSLD Wales Inc. to acquire a shower trolley, which provides safe and dignified bathing for residents with mobility limitations; and three ceiling lifts, which ensure safer, more efficient transfers for residents and staff alike.
“This support means a great deal to our community,” said Brendalee Piironen. “It allows us to continue providing the highest standard of care while ensuring dignity and safety for our residents. We are truly grateful for the support from the Fondation CSSS du Val-St-François.”
On June 16th, 2025, Alain Laroche, President of the Fondation CSSS du Val-St-François, and Peter O'Donnell, Vice-President, visited the Wales Home to see the impact of their donation firsthand.
During the visit, Executive Director Brendalee Piironen provided a guided tour of the facilities, including the care units where the new equipment is being used. The representatives also had the opportunity to affix logo stickers to the medical equipment, symbolizing their Foundation’s visible and lasting contribution to the CHSLD’s environment.
“We were honored to welcome Mr. Laroche and Mr. O’Donnell to show them the meaningful difference their support has made,” said Juliana Fabri, Fundraising Coordinator at the Wales Home Foundation. “Their generosity and commitment to the well-being of seniors in our region are deeply appreciated.”
While the funding request was submitted by the Wales Home Foundation, the support was specifically given for the CHSLD Wales Inc. The Wales Home Foundation is proud to act as a bridge between generous donors and essential needs within the CHSLD. This partnership is yet another example of how community collaboration can directly benefit the region’s most vulnerable populations
