Job description
Our Occupational Therapists assess functional skills, identify and implement treatment and intervention plans, develop, restore, or maintain skills, compensate for disabilities, reduce disability sitatuations, and adapt the environment to promote optimal autonomy in resident interactions. They also participate in clinical teaching.
Wanted profile
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
- Ordre professionnel des ergothérapeutes du Québec (OPEQ) member
- Two years of experience, an important asset
- Good knowledge of spoken and written English and French. This position requires English to meet residents' needs, who are mostly English speakers
Responsabilities :
- Actively participate in the Interdisciplinary Intervention Plan's development and implementation
- Perform functional and behavioural assessments, including of neuro-musculoskeletal function, impact of disabilities on functional abilities, and residents' life habits and make recommendations for interventions
- Help residents develop or regain physical or mental functioning or adjust to disabilities by implementing programs involving manual arts and crafts, homemaking skills, activities of daily living, and sensory motor, educational, recreational, and social activities
- Educate staff, residents, and families on home exercise programs and recommend or provide assistive equipment
- Promote interactions among residents
- Ensure proper equipment operation by participating in preventive maintenance, following manufacturers' instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and organizing repairs
