Unit Manager - Responsible for 2 CHSLD Units - TEMPORARY REPLACEMENT, UNDETERMINED PERIOD
SALARY: $94,306 to $122,596 annually
Job description
Under the authority of the Director of Nursing, the Unit Manager oversees the planning, organization, coordination and evaluation of the CHSLD's clinical, administrative and informational activities. This person's main mandate is to support the teams in carrying out their responsibilities according to the vision of the living environment and the orientations of the organization.
Wanted profile
- Member in good standing of the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec.
- Bachelor's degree in a discipline relevant to the position.
- Two (2) years of experience as a manager in a CHSLD.
- Any other combination of training and experience may be considered for non-mandatory requirements.
- Bilingual, French/English (written and spoken).
Responsabilities :
- Ensures a management focused on the respect and autonomy of the clientele and of the quality of care and services offered to residents housed in its living unit.
- Ensures an efficient and rigorous management of human, material, financial and information resources for the service.
- Supervises clinically and administratively, the teams under her/his responsibility and ensures the proper application of the policies, programs, standards, rules of procedure and processes in effect.
- Develops and maintains a harmonious and effective communication network in her/ his sector of activity, with residents, their families and loved ones as well as with internal and external care partners.
- Plans, coordinates and controls the programs and activities related to the care and services of the sector of activity in order to ensure the residents of the unit, care and services of optimal quality according to their needs.
- Responsible for the quality and effectiveness of the care and services offered to all residents of the sector of activity.
- Innovates in the revision of structures and in the organization of services in order to ensure optimal use of the potential of the teams in line with the living environment approach, and this, in a context of constant renewal of professional practices and work organization.
- Manages the staff in the sector, day, evening, night and weekend and ensures a safe environment and a healthy work environment for all employees.
- Organizes work in an approach that promotes interprofessional collaboration, with a view to harmonization and integration, through a participatory approach.
- Collaborates with the Director of Nursing in the implementation of new programs and practices to guarantee the wellbeing and quality of care to residents.
- Collaborates with the Director of Nursing in risk management and infections and prevention control.
- Works with team members in the sector to promote a dynamic, participative organizational climate conducive to continuous improvement of quality, efficiency and effectiveness, while aiming for performance standards.
- Monitors the performance of the sector according to management agreements and agreed targets and proposes solutions to achieve these targets.
- Contributes to the establishment of a healthy and safe work environment by ensuring the reduction of risks related to the health and safety of personnel.
- Participates in the recruitment process, the orientation and integration of new staff.
- Responsible for the assessment process of staff performance according to the established program.
- Responsible for the probation process of staff under her/his supervision.
- Coordinates staff replacement activities for her/his sector.
