RPA & RI Coordinator

SALARY: $30.81 TO $33.45 HOURLY

Job description

Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the RPA-RI Coordinator plans, directs, and organizes the daily activities of the RPA and RI. The coordinator supports both the clinical and non-clinical team in carrying out their responsibilities according to the mission and values of the Wales Home organization. The coordinator is responsible for managing the human, financial and technical resources.  The coordinator ensures the well-being and satisfaction of residents and their loved ones and maintains a positive partnership with the CIUSSS de l'Estrie – CHUS. In certain specific situations, the coordinator provides nursing care.

Wanted profile

  • Member of the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers auxiliaires du Québec (OIIAQ) or of the Ordre des infirmières et infirmièrs du Québec (OIIQ)
  • Two (2) years of experience as a licensed practical nurse.
  • One (1) year of experience as a manager, an asset.
  • Fluently bilingual in English and French.
  • Oriented towards residents’ needs.
  • Ability to work in a team and maintain excellent partnerships.
  • Planification and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt.
  • Analytical and judgmental skills.
  • Autonomous
  • Good Communication skills.
  • Ability to manage several projects and bring each one to completion.

Responsabilities :

  • Manage staff under her/his responsibility and assign tasks according to their job description.
  • Ensure that the needs assessment, care, and services provided to residents are updated and maintained.
  • Ensure services comply with standards of practice and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ensure awareness of residents' state of health and coordinate physician visits as needed.
  • Refer residents to the CIUSSS de l'Estrie – CHUS in accordance with RPA and RI contracts.
  • Update and implement clinical and non-clinical protocols, policies, and procedures in accordance with applicable laws and regulations of the LSSSS.
  • Oversee and evaluate legal aspects of residents’ files.
  • Analyze incident/accident reports (AH-223) and implement corrective measures.
  • Implement necessary measures to provide quality and secure services (safe administration of medication, falls prevention, infection prevention and control, etc.).
  • Manage dissatisfactions and complaints from residents and their families and propose solutions.
  • Work in collaboration with the human resource department on scheduling, hiring, human resource development plans and the implementation of working conditions, policies, and procedures.
  • Manage the probation of newly hired employees and evaluate their contribution at specified intervals.
  • Analyze employee accident reports and recommend solutions to prevent reoccurring of the situation.
  • Implement occupational health and safety recommendations.
  • Ensure a healthy work environment.
  • Work in collaboration with the finance department to ensure a sound budget.
  • Work in collaboration with the purchasing department to ensure management of medical supplies.
  • Participate in the certification process and implement recommendations.
  • Participate in management meetings and act as an advisor to management.
  • Carry out any other tasks assigned by superior.
